On December 23, the RA NA Vice President Vahe Enfiajyan met with the newly appointed Head of the Delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Armenia Thierry Ribaux.

Welcoming the guest in parliament, Vahe Enfiajyan congratulated him on assuming the post, wishing him successes in this responsible job.

Highlighting the activities of the ICRC office in Armenia in this hard situation, the NA Vice President also expressed his gratitude to the Delegation of the ICRC for the search works of withdrawing the bodies of the servicemen, who were killed because of military operations from September 27 Azerbaijani-Turkish aggression along the entire Artsakh-Azerbaijani frontline, the missing and the wounded persons, the identification of the destinies of the prisoners of war (POWs) and other kept persons, as well as for the support shown by the ICRC to the civilian population, who suffered because of the military actions.

Thierry Ribaux introduced details about the works done by the structure led by him after the end of the military operations. He informed that the ICRC, as a neutral and unbiased organization, took part in the search works of the missing persons, the actions of identifying the dead bodies, met with the Armenian POWs and got acquainted with the conditions of their maintenance.

The Head of the ICRC assured that their organization would continue carrying out its mediation humanitarian mission.

The Vice President of the Parliament expressed readiness to assist the organization within his possibilities for more quickly and effectively fulfilling the works.
